Lynette Swenson was diagnosed with Small Cell Neuroendocrine Cervical Cancer in September 2010. Her treatment moved quickly, beginning in September and ending in November of that same year. At the time, there was no clear standard of care for this rare cancer. Treatment often felt like a process of trying an approach and waiting to see how her body—and the cancer—would respond.

Although her doctors advised her to continue with additional treatment, Lynette made the deeply personal decision to stop. Believing that Christmas might be her last, she wanted to be fully present with her family and make their time together as meaningful as possible.

For the past fifteen years, Lynette has remained a constant presence within the sisterhood. She has welcomed and supported newly diagnosed women, helping connect them with the right people and guiding them toward the information and resources they need. Through her strength, experience, and determination, Lynette has become a powerful force for ensuring that every woman who enters the sisterhood feels supported, connected, and never left to navigate this cancer alone.

Over the years, Lynette has formed deep and lasting connections with women diagnosed with Small and Large Cell Neuroendocrine Cervical Cancer. She has walked alongside them through treatment, celebrated their victories, and grieved as far too many of their journeys ended tragically. Lynette carries the memory of every woman lost with her, transforming that sadness into a powerful determination to raise awareness and help create a future where newly diagnosed women no longer have to face the same uncertainty she did about the standard of care.

That determination is at the heart of Lynette’s commitment to Lifted Through Hope Foundation. Through the foundation, she hopes to help raise awareness, strengthen connections, and support efforts that will lead to clearer answers and better treatment options for women diagnosed in the future.

With a professional background in Human Resources, Lynette brings both her expertise and her heart for serving others to her Human Resources role on the Lifted Through Hope Foundation board. Her personal journey, professional experience, and years of supporting women within the sisterhood give her a deep understanding of the people at the heart of the foundation’s mission. She is committed to helping build a strong and compassionate organization where every person feels valued, supported, and united by a shared purpose.
